2016 CCYP Giving Circle Fund Recipients
The CCYP Giving Circle Fund was awarded in the form of small grants at the Fifth Annual Community Breakfast on June 15th, 2016 at the Cape Codder Resort and Conference Center. The fund, known as the CCYP Giving Circle Fund, enables its members to support strategic initiatives aligned with CCYP priorities to advance the reach of the organization. CCYP remains committed to the Shape the Cape vision by moving forward with groundbreaking work around Housing, Civic Engagement, and Career Development. CCYP Directors were welcomed to the stage to not only share how the organization was moving the needle on Housing, Civic Engagement, and Career Development, but to also award CCYP Giving Circle Funds to members who are contributing to the vitality of Cape Cod. $2,500 of the CCYP Giving Circle Fund was awarded to Community Development Partnership (CDP), and Housing Assistance Corporation (HAC). CDP's grant funding will support efforts to develop, launch and offer online First Time Home Buyer Education. HAC's grant funding will support the following Housing Consumer Education Center classes free to participants: Creating a Budget, Rebuilding Your Credit, and Community Resources.
$1,000 of the Giving Circle Fund was awarded to Cape Cod Community College. This grant will support a Community Engagement Speaker Series in which key town, local, and county officials will be hosted on campus to speak to students and community members.
CAREER DEVELOPMENT FUNDS
$2,000 of the CCYP Giving Circle Fund was awarded to WE CAN, and YMCA Cape Cod. WE CAN's grant funding will support the development of a GROW (Get Results with Others Wisdom) Group pilot program. A GROW Group will be learning and sharing experience with 6-8 women who are working to strengthen, expand, or start a business. YMCA Cape Cod's grant funding will support the YMCA Teen Achievers Program, which identifies and helps at-risk teens who have the potential to attend and graduate from college and gain long-term employment.
